id call up some junk yards, and maybe try and find one of the "wrecked" V's listed on craigslist to try and sell you there diff (convince them its not worth anything as its going to explode anyway)

If you must get one for your daily driver, go take one out of an SRX, STS, CTS. They have different gearing and most are not limited slip, but they are also a lot lot cheaper.

^^ if thats the case...why not just swap out the guts...assuming you just cracked your case and the internals are still good.

Ruptured cases are usually caused by the pinion walking up the ring gear and torquing the case to point of explosion, not to mention that the car probably rolled at least 50 yards after the failure, chewing up the teeth the whole time. I'd hazard a guess that the internals are no good at this point.
