If anyone is interested, I did some research on the flood that totaled my car. I found the dealership in Pennsylvania, did a search on the address and "flood" and voila!! Pics of the dealership under water. I don't think there's any question the car was totally submerged.

Thanks both!

According to the article the dealer lost $4M in inventory. Makes sense - the article said the average value of the cars on the lot was $23,000 and my uncle picked up 100 of a lot of 200.

The dealer is back in business so I guess he made out okay. That mall back there is back in business, too.

Worked out for me! Once in a while I think I should've taken one of the 2005, never-been-titled cars but I think that might've been more trouble because there would have been a lot fewer donor cars to work with.

That flood from last year was a mess. A couple other dealers (chevy and pontiac) near my house lost their complete inventory. The dealer in Aliquippa was a big one, and the entire shoppingcenter near it was submerged. I live on a hill and couldn't get off my hill for a while, it had turned into an island from the flood waters. Plenty of flood cars available still around here.

I wonder if my car could've come from a different dealer then? I thought Unis was the only Buick/Pontiac/Olds game in town.
