I have a 1990 Cadillac Sedan Deville, and the problem is that as soon as the car starts to move, or sometimes at idle, the "Temperature Light" flickers on and off very quickly over and over...

So when I drive, the light flickers and the warning chimes beep... They shut of for a few seconds sometimes also...

I replaced the coolant temp. sensor hoping it was bad, but no luck...

And I know the connector to the sensor works, because if I disconnect it when idling the "check engine" light comes on and the idle becomes rough...

Anyone have any ideas????

Thx...

I was thinking bad wiring too, but i cant trace the wire back very far... maybe its a bad connector?
I can try replacing the connector with another and see what happens...
Oh, and as for the housing being bad, i dont think it is... all I did was replace the sensor, hoping it was shorted out...
But i guess i'll replace the plug, then let u know what happens...
Thx...

Your unplugging the wrong sensor if the check engine light pops on. There's another single wire sensor somewhere in the same area I believe.
