Had to make my first trip back to the dealer this past weekend.

While out running errands this weekend with the family, the car started to consistently misfire, and the CEL came on. I was about 40 miles from home, and did not want to risk driving it any further. It just so happened that I was about 10 minutes from where I purchased the car. So, I limped into the dealer and left the car on the lot late Saturday evening. Cadillac Customer Service managed to scare up a cab, and we eventually got home.

I called the dealer this morning. The diagnosis is a failed ignition coil. Has anybody else had this problem? I've not seen it mentioned on the forum. I bought the car in June. It has 2500 miles on it.

Thanks,

Thanks,
This happened to me a year after I bought mine. It's been 2 years and 35000 miles since then and I haven't had a reoccurance.

All of your problems were caused by one issue with the car, your ECU needed to be reprogrammed. Please don't make everyone else's life miserable by posting demeaning comments about their cars.

Your frustration stems from one dealer giving you poor service, so they are to blame, not Cadillac or the CTS in general. I offered numerous times over the phone to have my shop fix your car, but never got the chance. If that had happened, I'm sure you'd still be driving it. It's a shame one bad service department caused you to have such loathing for Cadillac.

Putting that aside, the snide remarks don't help anyone here fix their problems or feel better about them. In short, if you really think the CTS is that bad, just move on, man. Enjoy the goat and forget it.

Don't you have an auto GTO? Wait until that 4L70E tranny starts giving you problems. I'll sign up on *************** just to see you bitch about that thing. :D Oh, and like Robert said, Adios Amigos. Enough is enough.

While it's true that JET isn't helping anyone by posting negative remarks, complaining about JET also isn't helping anyone. If he has negative feelings about Cadillac or the CTS, so what? Although it's hard to imagine now, someday we may have the same feelings. I love my CTS and plan to own Cadillacs in the future, but just because someone disagrees with me doesn't mean his opinion is wrong or that he has to leave. I'm really tired of people getting up in arms because others express the "wrong" opinion.

Its apparent you haven't followed JET's posts. JET is far and beyond someone who is unhappy with his car. He attack and spoils every thread he posts in. Yesterday he had members so upset it resulted in the thread be shut down by the Moderators. It's become obvious to me that JET revels in the attention regardless if its positive or negative. Some members have went as far as to say they hate him. I suggest we just ignore JET and he will leave when he no longer get the attention he so desperately needs. Trash talking him does not work.

I hate to bring this back to the original subject but...

The car is fixed.

It took the dealer a day to get the part. In the meantime, I had an 06 cts 3.6 auto as a loaner. (I'm REALLY glad I have the sport suspension in mine. ) I thought the woodtone around the shifter was a nice touch. Didn't care for it around the center stack. Too much of it.

They're going to cover the $85 cab ride I needed to get home when it first broke. No problem.

With the exception of covering the car with waterspots due to a quick dealer wash, I am reasonably pleased with the service. Judgeing by this experience, Cadillac did ok.

Geez guys, why so sensitive......I still own a CTS and I'll post here until I don't.....and BTW Tony, don't make me laugh. YOU were one of the first I called upon for some assistance. Heck I even offered to trade with you a few days before I bought the GTO. As far as your service dept..........I dunno, I'll keep my opinion to myself on that. For the rest, I'll continue to post, not to demean anyone or anything, I would hope y'all follow suit, it's just an internet board guys, lighten up, life is too short to fight.
