well i finally got someone to run against me, and even though its not something to brag about its still a nice kill!! i was travelling back from a friends house on sunset going to beverly hills when i see these lights flying up behind me.. is see its a new mustang gt with the new hood scoop and fog lights,my stomach started to churn. first of all im on sunset where i love to run, and have been since i was 16 so this guys in trouble!! he comes on my azz and all i hear is him taking it of gear and revving his engine..so right then i punch it and take betsy on a good hard mile run and saw nothing in sight!! so now i know the mustang couldn't keep up on the turns(boy i miss the g meter), so i wait for him to catch up so i can go at it off the line...so they finally catch up, two guys in their early 20s giving a big thumbs up!! THEY SCREAMED ( WE LOVE THE SUPERCHARED CADDIS) .lol,...so now the light turns green, and we both hit it,wasnt even close..only got up to about 60 and put a good car and half..i just got my first ticket there last week with 900 miles on the car, so i didn't want to push it..anyways fun race and the guys were good sports about it! FINALLY IT TOOK A MONTH FOR MY FIRST KILL!!!!!

Rustangs don't have a chance against any real car. They are trendy low powered heavy cars that Phord has never really given any real muscle to. Rustangs are a joke and I don't consider them sports cars.

Nice job though. Sorry to rain on your parade. I wait to run M5s, E55s, CL55s, etc.

Glad you are showing the kids that they can't mess with our Caddis.

AERO1, when you come up against any one of those shout it out. Would love to hear about it.

Nice KILL 1fstkde, I'm pretty sure the car gets faster as the engine sets-in. Oh, watch out for the REVENUER, must not feed the system.
Kill every Mustang GT that will make the attempt
Nice kill. I haven't had anyone try me yet. I am waiting on one of those STI's or EVO's to get froggy. Would love for a AMG or M to get a lame idea and try to run me as well.
Nice kill! Any Mustang kill is a good kill.

I'm still waiting for my first real run too.
I ran up against one of those tricked out EVOs a few months ago. Couple of kids (20-ish, with baseball hats on sideways) were sitting next to me at the light. They saw the "Supercharged" emblem on the door and revved their engine a few times. I casually looked over and smiled. Then I reset the beast to "competetive driving mode" and knocked the stick over to manual. I even let them pop first at the green light. Took less than one hundred yards to catch them and by the time I hit third gear, they were a memory. Saw them again about 2 miles down the road at the next red light (once they finally caught up). THEN I rolled down the window to talk. They were amazed that they had been beaten by an "old, grey-haired dude in a Caddy" (I'm only 46, but could easily have been their dad). I offered them a second chance, but they declined. I guess they know that they still needed some work on their car. I suggested they get some nitro and then maybe they could look for me again. Had a good laugh, reset the car back to sport mode and drove home.

Hehe nice, the only word that comes to my mind right now is "owned"

Nice kill Bob, but you made one mistake. Manual mode. Had you put her in sport mode, you would have kicked their arses even more. Sport mode IMO produces the quickest best shifts possible.

Still, nice wins both of you.
Kadonny,
Yeah, I know that now. When I want the power, I usually hop out of 1st gear pretty quick, and hang onto 2nd and 3rd up to 5500 rpm where all the power is. 2nd gear rocks! Just try to lift your head off the headrest when you are pounding it up at the top end of the rpm range. I love it. My 15 year old son really loves it (he was in the car with me and told me to "smoke 'em, dad.") The only down-side to that is watching the gas gauge drop as fast as the speedometer rises! Car sucks gas at the high rpms like a lost guy in the desert finding a water hole. But it sure is fun!

As far as mustangs go, the president of the University I teach at got himself one the GTs a few months ago. He also owns a bunch of Harley's and loves to ride. He loves talking about his rides. After respectfully listening to him describe all the muscle under his hood, and even letting him turn it over so I could listen to it purr, I told him casually that I wouldn't mind giving him some competition, if he was up for it. I was actually thinking of one of his motorcycles, not the ford. The mustang doesn't seem like much of a challenge - but a Harley might give me a race. I know he has seen my V, but not sure if he is aware what is purring under MY hood. Problem is, if I win, I might not get tenure! Don't want to tick off the folks who control your destiny!

Do it anyway, He will respect you more if yours is bigger and faster if he really is a motorhead. If he doesn't at least you won't be working for a poser anymore.

Those Mustang guys crack me up...LOL...I'm surprised they don't know that ANY GM Hotrod can outrun them. When I'm in my Firehawk, that's all who tries to race me...I say try, 'cause it "ain't no race"!...Only a supercharged Cobra is worth the trouble.

But...I MIGHT tremble a little if a Ford GT pulled up next to me in any of my cars!!!
Congrats & good job!! Now let's go chase those M5's and E55's. =)

Just wondering if any of you have gone drag racing at the track in your V's? I sure do love my blown CTS-V and think it's a monster in it's own right, but a E90 M5 or an E55 is faster than I am "most" of the time. If not, it's damn close.

Not trying to sound like a hater but Mustangs with a few bolts-ons, gears and a good driver can dip into the 12's in the 1/4...and there are alot of modded Mustangs out there. Just keeping it real.
Beautiful cars gentlemen, love hearing stories beating up on stangs, sti's, and evo's. I especially hate those evo drivers. I run them in an 06 Vette, they do their 5 grand launches and always let off at 60 when I'm just about to blow bye, chicken shits. None of them want a piece of any GM high powered vehicles. Keep up the good work.

Yup, Sstealth has an 06 V and he ran it at the track. He pulled a 13.2 something bone stock. These cars are faster than people think. With any mods these cars will do 12's all day long.

Edit: Here is a link to his thread, plus there is a video of him with his run in the thread. Enjoy!

Cool. They definitely are underestimated. I think Caddies in general are underestimated.
