Just wanted to know if there will be any issues with having FE4s in the front and FG2s in the back.

One of the front struts in the front is leaking, so I plan to replace both with FE4s and leave the FG2s in the back until they go bad.

Car (2005 CTS-V) is used as a DD with no plans for track.

Thanks in advance.

I am running that combination for the same reason - one of the front FG2s failed as I replaced both fronts with FE4s, but saw no reason to install the rear FE4s. I have no issues and like the way it handles. The combination reduces understeer.

I would replace in sets. If the backs are ok then leave them, especially because the rears are the most expensive ones. How many miles do you have on your car?

Around 39k miles.

I'm not the original owner. I was under the car recently for something else but before the strut started to leak. I noticed one of the struts had the FG2 sticker; I could not see a sticker on the other strut, so perhaps one has already been replaced or the sticker is somewhere out of view (I had the wheel on).

Ordered 2 new FE4s so I plan to change both.
