Farewell - its been fun

Sadly, I am leaving this forum. Sad because of the vast knowledge, helpfulness, and comradiery which exists here.

However, not all bad news. I am picking up my 07 Quicksilver/Ebony AWD Escalade tomorrow and am very excited about that. The SRX is a great vehicle and I only have positive comments to make about it. However, I really wanted to get back into a "truck". I would have gotten a Tahoe except for the current rebates on the Lades and of course, the fantastic service (and loaner verhicles) I get from my local dealer. I suppose the 403 HP was persuasive too. :bigroll:

Take care all, and I will likely check in from time to time to add my two cents.

A Fond farewell! Come back soon.

I, too, would have gone to an Escalade when the '07's came out, but, due to rediculous low resale values on the SRX, I'll be keeping mine for quite some time!

I hear you. The SRX was my first leased car ever, and it seems I made the right decision - at least this time. If I had bought, no way would I be trading out to an Escalade.
good luck and god bless,

i am jealous, it is another 18 months for me!
Right on! Glad to see you were able to get the Escalade after all! Did you end up going with Nav or no Nav after all?
Sorry to see you leave TSS ... it has been fun having you join in!
Yeah, strange how it worked out. The original deal through the dealer supplied "lease takeover person" fell through because I felt there were just too many risks for me with an unknown person. I could have ended up with one too many vehicles.

About a week later, one of my Partners asked when I was getting the new Lade. I explained what happened, and long story short, he is taking over the lease to replace his wife's vehicle. She wants a MBenz that comes out in 2008, so this tied her over perfectly until next June. All in house dealings and much easier. Plus I know there will be no issues w/ GMAC approving the takeover. Dealer located exactly what I wanted - first choice in colors, options, etc.

I did not get NAV. I just never used mine enough in the SRX and the fingerprints on the screen bugged me. I also think it actually made the radio a bit more confusing (for me). Plus, I was constantly cleaning it! Since the Lade Bose sytem is identical regardless of NAV or non-NAV, I declined. Again, I really appreciate all your help with the interior non-NAV photos.

I got the 18 inch chrome wheel option (22s are hard to deal with in Michigan winters), cooled seats/heated steering wheel option, and power roof. I Pick it up tomorrow!

Todd,
Gunna miss u man...................Guess I'll just pick on Don now.

Don't need any help with your purchase?

Maybe i'll see you over there when I get an EXT.

It's been fun, Jim
Thanks Jim. I really appreciated your offer. My dealer (long-time salesperson) was able to get me the supplier discount, minus rebates, etc.
Who is your salesperson at Capitol? I've enjoyed working with Neil Miller. I'd stop by to look at your new truck on Friday, but I think I'll be spending the day working with a buddy who retired and is back consulting with another state agency.

I PM'd you!
Todd,

I wish the SRX was my first leased vehicle.

I will miss you from this forum, your insights, humor and ability to keep threads going.
