i have a 95 sls. it is supposed to have a factory alarm. but, when i do the "lock door then open them up while on the inside" test, i hear nothing. furthermore, i have a remote start in my car. while using the remote for the starter to lock the door, i get horn honks, but the door test still dont work. i dont get it. any insight is appreciated. P.S i have the FSM so if anything is in those, tell me. i couldnt find anything about the alarm settings.

I had the same problem with my '97 Eldorado. I don't know if your '95 SLS has the same computer, but this is what I did to activate my alarm:

Go to the section in the FSM on the Instrument Panel Cluster
Go to the Instrument Diagnostic Center Section
Look at the section "Display Diagnostic Codes" and go to IPC Override Displays
In the IPS01, increment the display to 13

This activated the alarm system on my Eldorado. Be sure and read the FSM carefully because if you mess this up, the IPC may be placed in an unrecoverable state. The IPC will have to be replaced if this happens. If you read the FSM carefully and follow instructions, it's a piece of cake! Let me know if you need further assistance.
I dont have an IPS option on override. the 95 is OBD1 not obd2
rather, i dont have IPS01

Hi I have a 95 Seville SLS and my alarm quit working. The remote is good, but i even tried the self test and it didn't work either. Did you get a fix for yours? I do not have a remote start.
Thanks, Lin
