Is there a place to tap the tach output for a data acquisition system anywhere that is relatively easy and that doesn't involve splicing into the white wire at pin 10 on the ECU?

The OBD port, but you are gonna need software........

There must be an easier wire to tap, I recall some folks have had success tapping into one of the coilpack wires or even some wires out of the fuse box. I need to do the same for my shift light which I've had for about a year (just remembered).

Actually, googled this and it should work. It's for a C5 and a separate thread for a C6 but same ECM so wiring should be same to the obd port.

Going to give it a try as I hate running even more wiring through the firewall.

Ever figure this out mate? I have a spa design shift light I'd like to install.
