Hi. I recently bought a 2001 DeVille DHS that seems to have a few minor computer bugs, one of which is the door exit feature. Following directions in the owner's manual, I programmed this feature to retract the driver's seat and raise the steering wheel when I open the driver's door. It seems to work maybe 4 or 5 times in a row, but then on the next try it will send the driver's seat forward instead of backward and the steering wheel will not move at all. Other times it will begin to move the seat backward and the steering wheel up, but only for about 1 second and then everything stops moving. Usually when either of these two things happen, I can press the exit button on the door and the seat and steering wheel will do what they are supposed to do - but not always. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

our cars have a LOT of electronics -
most components are monitored -
and if there is a problem -
a DTC - Diagnostic Trouble Code is set -

unlike other cars - our cars include have a built-in scanner -
and it is really easy to use -

to check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes -
if you don't know how - go here and read the ENTIRE post -

if you have any codes - post them here -
ALONG WITH THEIR DEFINITIONS -

there are several memory settings that seem "necessary" once you discover them -
just keep in mind the more stuff moves -
the quicker it wears out -

Hi Basscatt. Thanks for the reply. I checked all the codes as you suggested and only found one that was current. The code is "B0249, Heater/Defrost/AC Door Range Error". I know this to be a problem by the cold air that is always blowing on my feet, so that is another thing that I need to fix. There was also one more code displayed but it is in History - "B1327 - Vehicle System Voltage Below 9.0 Volts". When I did the code check, I really expected to see an MSM code, but there was none. So, any more suggestions on what I should do next?
