So I was out escalade shopping at local Cadillac dealer today... I came across a 2011 CTS-V Coupe.. It is Black on ebony with polished wheels. It also has Recaro seats, suede steering wheel and shift knob, power sun roof, Automatic transmission. It had just under 17,000m. It is Cadillac certified with certified warranty. I may be considering it.. What would be a good price for this car?? ....Are they really bad in the snow with the stock tires??

On all fours or just the rears?
Don't even think about using the stock PS2 tires in winter conditions. With 4 snows and the electronic nannies, you're gonna have to try hard to get stuck or lose control. If you leave the PS2s on the front, you won't have any traction to steer or stop. This is my 3rd winter with V on Pirelli Sottozeros and have never had a problem. Your biggest issue might be ground clearance on the front spoiler if the ice has built up anywhere.

Best regards,

Elie

Hi, Can all four tires fit in a Coupe with the rear seats folded down? Are you using the Pirelli Sottozeros or Pirelli Sottozeros II?

I noticed a few choices on tire rack... I was looking for the cost and size. I found the Rear size of 285/35-19. I did not see the Front size of 255/40-19??

Quite the opposite end of the spectrum those 2 vehicles.

Personally i would not buy it if i had to drive in the snow. Besides slippin and slidin, ground clearance, you have the wear and tear from the salted and sanded roads. It will hurt resale for sure and age the car quickly. I live where it snows and would not buy a car like that if it had been driven on salted roads.

No slippin' and slidin; for me, but I hear you about driving in the salt etc. I used to have a car that I'd pack away in the winter and decided that if I'm gonna have a V, then I don't want to not drive it for 4-5 mos. out of the year. I oil spray the car and have a 3 month unlimited pass at a touchless car wash. Also got the WeatherTech floor liners to protect the carpets. I'm happy with being back to having one car and driving the V all year round. I don't really lose any handling with the Sottos either.

I can fit my 4 tires mounted on wheels in the sedan. Not sure about the coupe. My Sottos are not the II version. Not sure about availability from TireRack, but a friend of mine with an '09 sedan (also in Toronto) just got a set of Sottos that he ordered through his dealer (Old Mill). Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Elie

It's exciting that you're considering a V, Austin! I see the community has been helping you greatly so far, and please don't hesitate to email me at [email protected] for further assistance. I'm always happy to research concerns for you or provide a copy of the V's build sheet!
