I have Escalade Hybrid 2009 and it started have some problems.
Power lift gate opens like 1/4 and closes with remote control or button on handle or button by the mirror.
Glass door wouldn’t unlocked and rear Window brusher stoped working.
I tried disable auto to turn to manual open by button near mirror, both glass or gate wouldn’t even unlock. Did not release the door.
When I try to hold or lift up the door when it opens 1/4 with my hand, it tried close itself, so it was like I had to fight against the gate to hold it open.
Anybody knows what is wrong?
Some mechanic said it might be motor gone bad or need to reprogram at the dealer.
Please let me know if anybody know what to do.

My 2009 hatch would not open past 1/4 way. It was blown out air assist shocks on the door. I replaced both and the hatch opened as it should. If the rear hatch is not all the way closed the rear window and wiper may not work for safety reasons?
