HI gang, I'm a new member, Hope I'm doing this right..... Have a 1989 Caddy 4 door Deville with 121000 miles 4.5 engine.
The problem is a strange vibration. When I'm doing 65 MPH and I accelerate slowly to 70 MPH I hear and feel a growling vibration from the front of the car. My mechanic 'thinks' it's engine mounts. But this repair costs more arms and legs than I can spare right now and I need some verification or other ideas from the experts. At first they said it was tires so I put new tires on it and I still have the problem. It did need new tires, by the way. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Well if it only happens while accelerating slowly in the 65-70 range, just stay above or below that range. My moms Volvo has the same kinda problem, but it happens at 65-90 mph, and freeway speeds here are 75 so it's kinda a pain in the ass to go 91 (cars max anyway) or 64 everywhere. But since you don't want to spend the money, just keep it out of the speed range..
