I CAN NOT LIVE WITH THIS TAPPING NOISE ANYMORE!!!

I need a fix. Don't care about cost. Engine runs perfect. What should I do? It's embarrassing sitting at a stop light with a nice eldo and all u hear is the engine tapping.

Could be anything from a cat stuck in the accessory drive to a crankshaft that's ready to fall out the bottom of the oil pan.

Could you be a bit more specific as to "tapping" ???

A Tap at cold start and then on and of during driving. It's loud at the bottom of engine. I'm thinking exhaust cams. I really need this fixed.also a puff if smoke(oil) when taking off every do often.

Bad thing about it, it's only been 3yrs since rebuild. And has been tapping since. I do WOT and I've used rotella, with no good result. So should I get another engine rebuilt or what. Just looking for insight before I make a decision. Thanks

And the buzzing noise the PVC valve does I can't figure out either.

Clean the PCV with choke cleaner spray and blow it dry. Check the dirty air (manifold vacuum) line and connectors/elbows for leaks. If the valve continues to whistle or whine, get a new one. $2.50. Engine specific, so look it up in the parts guide that hangs on the oil/air filter/PCV shelves.
