'Hate to even share this, but, I have a 2019 CT6-V, I am a local deroiter, and was so hyped about it when it came out, had to have it.

My 2019 engine is siezed at the dealer (so they say, never even tried fixing it.

One thing kept it in service or going back (Reduced Power Mode) would trip different times. Then taken to service where they would say it's fixed, or etc. (Then they would lie on the paperwork half the time and say coud not get it to reproduce or some other story.) Not what we spoke of, took test drives and pictures while there, etc. Probably 6-7 different dealerships in MI & FL!

They were releasing it back to me, all fine, I told the service mgr to take it for a test drive in track mode and get on it. 30 min later, towed to the dealership) and GM is offering a buy back. (Have warranty letter extended by GM)!

Now it sits dead, I have no vehicle and GM wants to write a check, no refund of rentals, maint, etc. and has a full corp warranty for an additional 4 yrs, 97k miles! They want to demoish the car and I wanted to drive, baby her and keep a long time

Anyone have a new engine?

Know someone who can fight GM on this?

Or, just take my losses and (Drive What?)

Any help, much obliged! Letting you all know, from an original 2019 Blackwing CT6-V owner...

Bummed, original Blackwing Owner...

I combined your post in the "Tune up?" thread with the post you had started your own thread with, as the two posts both told part of the story and I figured it would be better if they were together.

Who have you actually spoken to at GM about this? Just someone (who?) at the dealership?
What does the extended warranty cover?
If the engine is dead / seized, why are they saying they want to buy the car back rather than replacing the engine under warranty (assuming your extended warranty covers the full powertrain)?

If I read the letter GM put out they aren't make these engines anymore and they don't have any in stock for replacement which is why they are crushing vehicle.
If they are paying you back what you originally paid for vehicle take money and walk away drove vehicle for 97000 miles free.

When I read stories like this it makes me wonder if I am on barrowed time with mine. My 2019 CT6-V just turned22 K troubIe free miles and I stay up on the required maintenance.

Makes me wonder again if these 4.2L LTA engines effect only the early builds CT6-V 's. My build date on mine is 1/12/2019 so far so good !

I wrote a much longer reply, but it disappeared on my cell… GM will not even look at it. They control it all. All fraud. 44k miles. All maintenance at dealers. Over $11k in rentals not reimbursed… Etc. Etc. Not close to what I paid. They won’t do anything unless new, engine. They are destroying all evidence, crushing V’s. No loaner. Uber to dealership to pick up check 20 days after signing all rights away! Then Uber home. Depressing…

I wonder where @Cadillac Customer Service is for this thread?
You mean Cadillac Customer Rip Off Department. This procedure is 100% completely outsourced under Gm umbrella. From controlling the dealership, customer, offer and time pressure tactics to release all liability and legal rights as an American Citizen while they pay you the least possible, and make it difficult to do anything but accept the deal, or be 100% on your own, again, with GM & their fraud.

I did not go Lemon law and write Last Change Letter because it would be months, years to just get them to where they are right now.

On my cell and signed in from Google. Jeffrey Jay

Used ones pop up from time to time on ebay. There's one currently active:

Needs to be in a crate new, or on your own, due to their purposeful negligence.

From the history Jeffrey mentioned in the op, it sounds like that engine was unfortunately a problem child from the factory.

I'm curious as to the builder of that engine. If I'm not mistaken, the 2 or 3 Blackwing problems I've heard of have all come from the same builder.
For all i know, it’s not even seized! They will NOT allow the dealership to look into it, take it apart, etc. They were releasing it all good! I begged the service mgr to take it out, then the call/towed back.

I loved this car! EMMA. Never an engine noise/problem. All electronic reduced power mode then engine light sporadically then reset itself…

Getting paid to ignore this. That’s where they are

I am getting $63k for an original V with 40k miles and complete component warranty until 2027 or 97k miles!

My posts are being deleted as I write them...
Exactly! They LIE everytimewe speak with GM. (And their fraud cover-ups)

Now they they tell me they are going to part it out!

AT my/OUR expense!

Got them to $89,900, again all work on my end...

Has 47k Miles. Came in for oil change, never left. No diagnosis other than engine seized. No parts that need to be replaced, etc. Sits in lot dead, no/dead battery!Over winter. Locks removed!)

Much more total fraud.

Now trans/Lock-up recall etc.

Never new GM was such a terrible, no ethics, money over saftey/lives, to us all!

Has full warranty until 2027, sits dead, force buyout, to get out of liability... No service, no diagnosis, rolled in for oil change, never left, dead on lot, all expenses on me/us.

Will release ALL contacts, info etc. once finished with this...

Any and all helpful comments, resources, etc, much obliged!

Be safe and well!

Hi! Yes, dealership Service Manager in the begining. It started and ened there. They would not give me a contact at GM... Other than: "The GM Operations Dept"/ Buy back from MORELY: Google Search (Google Link)

That's the first set-up to the fraud... They are contracted by GM to do all repurchases.

Never had I talked to an engineer, mechanic, someone who knows the vehicle, who they spoke to/makes the decision to offer a buy back only! (Even though it is under full warranty until 97k & 2027!)

They claim thy cannot fix it, no parts, yet theywant to sell mine for parts vs crush it, now.

All on me/us.

Now more pressure tactics to end buy back/recind offer in a week or so...

Any helpful comments, lawyers with a real bite, not just settle fora pentinence, much obliged!

Any other names, contacts, I will create a list if we go to court, try and get everyone some compensation, for GM's purposeful misdeeds.

I wonder where @Cadillac Customer Service is for this thread?
Exactly! Paid to not be here... For their loyal, american citizens, customers.

I am from Detroit, this makes me sick to know and see this first hand...

The main reason I didn't buy this vehicle. I figured that GM would at least make crate versions of these for ten years but it turns out that they didn't do that.
You were smart/correct sir!

I actually think they did, but then puposly sold them all off, plust the rights and design of the engine to a German Co? (What I heard, no proof)

From the history Jeffrey mentioned in the op, it sounds like that engine was unfortunately a problem child from the factory.

Todd Good built it.

I think there are many more.

If you notic on ones for sale, most have service records of reoccuring similar issues, starting with engine light, power mode, etc.

Also lookout for recall on trans, real/ full wheel lock-up!
