Yeah....I know...used car...bs warranty....upside down on value.Yikes!
Warranty companies are usually hesitant to honor coverage, so be prepared to fight.
Best of luck to you.

Hopefully it works in your favor, just be ready to argue and read up on your warranty terms.Yeah....I know...used car...bs warranty....upside down on value.
I am about to take delivery of a 2010 CTS 3.6 Premium... with 85k.... I want to change the timing chain immediately since I keep hearing/reading about it on this model/engine config. Are there any aftermarket upgraded timing chains out there for the 3.6? Like any stronger chains/sprockets or anything? Not keeping the car. But I’d like to fix it somewhat right. So 2011 3.6 out of an awd CTS sedan, coupe vs 2wd are all interchangeable? I’m needing close to a direct swap. I can change accessories but this is engine is not salvageable. Death by timing chain.
I need to get this ordered ASAP. I appreciate the help guys.
Cloyes makes a good kit according to a number of people here. I went with OEM since mine went out at the 100,000+ mile mark - if the second set last as long, they will outlive the car.I am about to take delivery of a 2010 CTS 3.6 Premium... with 85k.... From what I've gathered, the stock chains tend to elongate at the connections between the links. This happened on earlier model years, and is something GM fixed in later years. Any quality aftermarket timing chain brand has probably corrected these issues. Beware of any timing component containing Chinesium. These could cause catastrophic failure and at the least would necessitate repeat work.I am about to take delivery of a 2010 CTS 3.6 Premium... with 85k.... You're way ahead of schedule without codes at that mileage. I would use 3 to 5k mile oil changes and wait until it needs it, or reaches the mileage that some GM techs recommend it, ~130k miles. If you receive the car in good working condition I'd have to say a timing chain replacement is over the top at this point. There are many, many 3.6L motors well beyond the 130k mile mark without problems on the OE timing components and some well into the 200k mile range. If it's something you feel you need to do, that's understandable, but if you're operating off of hearsay and paranoia I'd advise against it. The motors are very dependable when taken care of.I am about to take delivery of a 2010 CTS 3.6 Premium... with 85k.... Oh no, SilverRock... Did you get your CTS via Carvana like me? Lol how many miles again? I prob just missed it. Sigh, don't know how my issues will go with "SilverRock" lolHello, I guess I'm a lucky one....I might need a replacement also....smh. 2012 CTS coupe 3.6 Rwd. I have warranty with SilverRock but don't know if this is covered.
