I recently met a guy who told me he had a "cadillac 500" engine and auto tranny for sale that came out of a wrecked pickup truck. He didn't put the engine in the truck, and was told by the person he bought the truck from that it was a caddy 500. I am going to look at the engine on saturday, and would like to know if anyone can help me identify the engine by the block or head casting numbers. I do know that the price is right, and that it does have an edelbrock aluminum intake. I don't know if I will keep the engine or not, but am strongly leaning towards selling or trading it, so this might be a good chance for someone looking for a 500.

Should be of some help. I dunno if the Edelbrock is stamped with its number but if it's a BBCaddy intake it will be a #2115.
