Engine cover painting question ??

I'm debating having my dealer bodyshop paint my engine cover
to match my paint code....i was told they needed to make sure and
use an adhesion promoter otherwise the paint will come off with the
heat....they've got to fix a problem with my rear spoiler and the
paint damage it has caused to the leading edge of my trunk...
apparently it was mounted inappropriately at the same time they
are going the rocker panels I ordered to match...

Does anyone know if the process by which the engine cover needs
to get painted is any different than that which they would use
on the rocker panels ??
