It's 3 degrees F outside right now. I have a 2014 XTS VSport Platinum. Bought it used, but pretty sure it was a USA car (not Canadian) but I am in a border city, Detroit...

Was an engine block heater standard on these things? I believe this car has all the options. But I went looking for a cord and couldn't find one. Can anybody help me out? Is there supposed to be a heater? Where would the plug-end be on the engine?

Cheers all, stay warm!

I just checked all the paperwork that came with my 2016 Luxury version, and the Block Heater is listed as standard (i.e. not optional).

BTW all XTSes are built in Oshawa (Canada), until the plant closes later this year.

The electrical cord is on the driver side of the engine compartment, between the fender and the engine compartment fuse block. Check the heater cord for damage. If it is damaged, do not use it. See your dealer for a replacement. Inspect the cord for damage yearly. 3. Plug it into a normal, grounded 110-volt AC outlet.
