To make a long story short, just bought a 96 Eldo with 64k on it. THe Service engine light came on, emission problem. Had it hooked up to the computer and the machanic shoed me that the O2 sensors were operating within range (above below 500) and that one may just be lazy. I know that an O2 sensor was just replaced and I am unsure if the car has 93 octane or something less in it right now. Any ideas?

You have multiple o2 sensors...... 2 on the manifolds, and i think one downstream.......

The mechanic only shoed me two different 02 sensor readouts, maybe he wasn't aware that there are 4. Could it possibly be the fuel though?

I suppose it possibly could be....... But if using too low of a grade of octane, the computer will retard the timing....... It wont increase emissions......

I could be mistaken though......
