Had a flat tire on driver rear of 88 Brougham. Jacked up car from rear frame and replaced flat with spare.

Am I correct in thinking as long as car is turned off, no damage can come to the electronic leveling system rear shocks and sensors while doing this.

Or, is there a way to turn off ELS when jacking up car which I am unaware of?

TIA for any input.

Just jack it up. It's only Ford's air spring system that you need to turn off/disable.

In older cars the only possible damage would be for a height control connector rod to pop off one of the ball studs.

In ANY of these cars it's always a good idea to inspect the rear height sensor control rods whenever you pull a rear wheel - and all 4 wheels in the full CVRSS cars.
