I have an odd issue (a few actually). 2005 CTS-V prior salvage, front driver side impact. Cruise control works perfect with headlights OFF, but if they are ON the cruise will only work with the instrument light dimmer turned down to a hair above the lowest position. I have a feeling this might have something to do with the sunroof switch that has a mind of its own and will open by itself. Any ideas?
Straight take it to electrician if you're not familiar with the issue. As I was trying to be a professional mechanic with my car's automatic window issue, ended up breaking motor which cost me twice of repair charges.
There is a harness that runs through the wheel well and into the cabin.
Check that harness and look for a wire that's not right, grounds and chaffing.
Best advice I can give, I had an issue in this harness, but it was a few years back and I don't remember exactly what it was. The cruise did odd things, and some other systems like traction control were affected and the brake lights.
