Can anybody explain how the exterior lights of a 1974 Eldorado are designed to function? The front corners each have a wiring harness with (3) bulbs. I see only the forward bulb functioning (turn indicator).

-In which scenarios should each of these (3) lamps function?
-What functions are controlled by the sentinel light dial?
-How does the light sensor in the dash influence any of these?

I picked up a '74 Eldorado convertible with mysterious modifications and I need to learn how it should work to know if it does work.

Thanks!

I own a 76 deVille. I HAD a '73 Fleetwood. I BELIEVE the yellow light is a parking lamp. The SIDE lights are the cornering lamps that turn on when you signal to illuminate the turn. The yellow parking should blink in alternating fashion with the clear lamp in the front.

Welcome!

a. is the turn signal. It will light intermittently when you switch the turn signal.
b. should light steadily when you switch on the lights.
c. is the cornering light. It will light steadily (white) when you switch the turn signal.
