Hey All! Today we took the dual exhaust off an Eldo parts car we had & decided to take off the single exhaust on our '92 Eldo & put the dual exhaust on it. It was an easy job, and the chrome tips look real good. Now..our Eldo sounds deep & almost too loud. I mean I kinda like it & it sure turns heads, but my hubby thinks it's too loud for a caddy, anyone else have dual exhaust? How does yours sound? I have the 4.9, not Northstar.:D

I neglected to put that the exhaust is not factory, it's 2 1/2" Flowmaster. But your are right Katshot, it sounds at idle and at soft acceleration mellow, and even deep & throaty, kinda like a new Vette, but step down on the pedal, and look out Raceway Park revisited!!! LOL! This car sounds better than any mustang we've heard & just like LT1 Vette's & camaro's with tuned exhausts! It's wild! I never knew a Caddy can sound so awesome!

Why dont you just stick in some flowmaster mufflers or something like that???

cus mufflers alone dont give a performance gain.... they just give sound
That's not true. Most OEM mufflers are far more restrictive than aftermarket performance types. You WILL be able to get verifiable performance increases with only adding mufflers. Of course removing resonators AND replacing mufflers is even better ;)

I like the quietness of our Seville -- "silent but violent" I say. One time, my wife was driving the Seville and I was in the Nissan truck. I downshifted into 4th to "try to race" and she smiled at me and floorboarded it and was just GONE! All I heard was a "wissssssshhh" and she must have been 5 car lengths ahead of me in about 2 seconds.

I like it when I can pick off rice boys with their loud mufflers in a car that they can't even hear and likely ride around in with their grandparents.

But that's just me...

Hey, me too! I go for the "silencer" effect. Stealth factor! Why broadcast gettin your jollies? You know you're having fun, without being loud about it. But, there are loud people, That need to be heard. What ever trips their trigger....

Until "active" mufflers are more main-stream, you're going to have to deal with some increased noise level to get the extra power. Besides, old gear-heads like me LIVE to hear that V8 song ;)

hehehe....I do! I do too, with a slight twist... For me there is a time and place for everything, or so it seems. If I want to REALLY hear the V-8 song, I'll jump in the 73Z, un-cork the headers, and "slowly" go down the 1/4 at 13.80... I said slowly, it's mostly stock... with street tires. When I'm in the Eldorado, I like the sound it makes... not hot-rod, not wus.
