Currently own a 2000 Sevile. I'm kicking around updating to a DTS 08-12.
I'm not seeing much problems in the engine like the older Northstar engines.
Did GM get the block & heads to not leak?
Any other major problems to worry about?

Re: Dts. 2008 - 2012

The Northstar was sequentially redesigned and modified throughout its production run. The last FWD "DTS" has the latest and greatest. BUT any engine in any car in any make in any model can blow up tomorrow morning.

My 2002 STS block and heads do not "leak" - nor do most Northstar blocks and heads. This is a gloom and doom forum so we see the warts, never the diamonds.

Other questions up in "DTS". Thread moved.
