Oh my God it was horrible! I had to drive it from northern New Jersey to Long Island.. I thought the Jetta handled bad. Now, I have a new respect for it.. The "bug" just jiggles all over the place. It's a handling nightmare! AND - it's all plastic and metal inside.. There's nothing cushy about it at all. If there's ANY good point about it - it's roomy.. You can stretch out. And, you can lean your arms against the side by the window - there's plenty of room. But, no fabric or anything.. Just metal..

The car stinks.. I can't believe anyone would spend more than $10k on it..

never been a huge fan of volkswagens, but the passat w8 is the best car they have made. They are the generic brand of german cars.

<---- Airhead here.. :cool::D

I've owned 35 Aircooled VW's.. Mostly Beetles. The oldest being a '56. Owned at least one of every year from '66 to '74. 3 Karmann Ghias. And a '69 Squareback. I currently own just one - a EMPI style fiberglas dune buggy on a shortened 1964 Beetle pan. If I ever get it done, it will be my track toy..

My wife drove a '96 Jetta - until we traded it on the STS. Not the cushiest, not the biggest, not the fastest - but it was a great car! 6 1/2 years and 102,000 miles of service - and not ONE service repair! We literally only put gas, oil, tires and brakes on it.

VW in the here and now don't have the personality of the old air-cooled cars..
