I searched the forum but wasnt able to find much help on my issue. The temp control on the driver side is stuck at 60 degrees, heated seat button doesnt work, cooled seat button DOES work. The passenger side still works 100%. Ive been told numerous things from my dealership so now im looking for some real help.

I was told the control panel needs to be replaced and this is the part number 25837749. http://www.gmpartsdirect.co/oe-gm/25837749 Is this the correct panel for my car? Am I able to change this out myself or is computer reprogramming required when replacing this?

My car is a 2008 CTS RWD with the performance package, no navigation, heated and cooled seats.

Thanks for any help on this issue.

You two should buy one stack and share parts, I'm pretty the temp control parts are the same on all levels(luxury, performance or premium).

Or better yet buy a used one on eBay an share that cost.

To me, it looks like there is a beige female plug on the back. I don't see why you couldn't just replace what you need. I think GM just doesn't want to source the parts individually.

I was originally told by my dealer that I needed to replace the center control stack, which is the unit that houses the cd player. This turned out to be incorrect, after i purchased one on ebay and then had the dealer swap it out. They then changed thier tune and said I needed to replace the control panel, the circuit board that controls the temp is located on the back side. I wanted to see if anyone has specific knowledge before I purchase the panel, no way im paying retail through the dealer.

I have repaired these switches before after falling victim to a leaky sunroof. Disassembly is fairly easy. You can find instructions on YouTube. Once you have the part in your hand, you can test the switches with a DMM. Each switch has two contact points. In my case, water had infiltrated the board and a plated thru hole connection was open. I shoved a piece of bus wire thru the hole, soldered it on each side and bingo the switch started working. I'm located outside of Detroit. Where are you?

I am having a similar problem... the temp down button on the drivers side occasionally works. BUT here's the odd thing... when it does work (when is successfully drops the temperature by one degree) it also switches on the radio and flips it between AM and FM. Even if the Radio is off... when I hit the temp down button, the radio will turn itself on and go to AM. If I get it to work again (after several attempts) it will switch to FM.

This is a 2011 CTS-4 with no navigation.

I just checked this thread as I was about to buy the entire panel... I got the driver side switch on ebay for $40... sound like that should fix problem. Fingers crossed!

BriStoller... sound like a more complicated electrical issue that you have going on... I would take it to a dealer

I have been looking on this forum everywhere for a solution and even found a few similar threads but this is my exact issue. My climate control temperature down arrow does absolutely nothing on the drivers side. Every other button on the entire center stack works fine. So I will look to see if I can find the correct part and try and fix it if when I take it to the dealer they try and tell me something else since I just bought the car less than a week ago.

----------

can anyone link the youtube video on how to pull the center stack? I have an 09 CTS. Also a link or part number to the temperature controls (drivers side)? Cant find the youtube video and the link to the part on ebay has expired with no part number listed.

Edit: Nevermind, I found this youtube video, guess this will work. Linking for reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdHhd_3RGmk
