I was rear ended last May and ever since the body shop replaced my rear bumper I have had problems with my blind spot detection. When I first got the car back the passenger side wasn't working the detection light was staying on but dimly all the time. I took it back and it worked normally for a few days before the same problem happened on my driver's side. It's not throwing any codes to my console. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how much this might cost me at a Canadian shop?

I had the very same issue after being rear ended and having the bumper cover replaced, The body shop had to take the car to the local dealer to reset/relearn the sensor system. Been fine since then.

Welcome to CF!

The sensor may have been damaged, or they have to check wiring and connections.
Thanks for the welcome. I've been a lurker on the forum for a long time, since I bought my XTS V-Sport.
I hope my insurance will let me reopen this file 9 months after the fact. I bet they just swapped the sensors from the passenger side to the driver's side to keep costs down.

That's what I think they were trying to avoid. I'll bring it by my local shop to get it looked into. I'm glad you had a good experience with that, it makes me hopeful I can get this taken care of without too much hassle. The last thing I want is a car full of electronic bugs because some 17 year old had to stare at her phone instead of the road.
