I have a 2014 2.0 performance. How do i get handles to illuminate when i approach vehicle. My 5series had "courtesy" lighting that did this
And is trunk not power? Closing and opening. That is not luxury??

No trunk opening and closing just manual. Not sure about the handle lights my LUX doesn't have it.

If you hit unlock on the fob that will turn on all the lights. At least it does on mine.

I hope to never have the automatic open and close on a small sedan like the ATS, just never saw a benefit or at least enough to want to pay for it.

If it matters to you why didn't you check out both before buying it? I am assuming you looked in the trunk when looking at the car?

Try reading page 5-46 & 5-47 in the owners manual you may have to enable the vehicle locator lights.

If you want the door handle lights to come on I believe you need to push a button on the fob. Unlock does it. Don't know about the others.

As for power trunk closing, that requires a motor. You may not care about weight but every decision made is a compromise. The ATS objectives and marketing put performance high on the list. The car's low weight is accomplished by looking hard at the tradeoff between weight and convenience and cost. It probably did not makes sense for them to raise the cost of the car by using lighter materials in many places and then add a heavy motor.

Its always a good idea to make sure any car you buy has the features you want before you buy it. If you would not have bought the car if you knew it didn't have power trunk closing or door handle illumination just from the fob being near, you can see the value of not assuming that your particular wants coincide with the choices the designers made.

While I support any and all options, manufacturers seem disinclined to offer many options other than in packages. I would have been VERY annoyed if my ATS came with power trunk closing or I had to give up other things to make sure it didn't have that feature.

As for trunk I never looked in it. I was expecting luxury, but i get it with weight etc. The handling is just as good as beemer if not better.

Did you find an option that turns on lights, door handle lights
without pressing unlock?

There is no other option.
