I don't know how to fix your 2000 Escalade but if you get no answers here, try GMT400 Forum...the 1999/2000 Escalade was a GMT400 (GM Truck 400) platform that was also used in the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon and Denali for many years...give them a try a they deal specifically with issues of the usually reliable but 23 years old now) GMT400

Good luck,

Bill

I have the dealer service manuals, about 5" think, 4 of them, I read it being first series it was built on same as the Tahoe, and all the other ones. the manuals actually cover all thee, chevy, GMC and cadillac. I have been searching internet and the official GM repair manuals and all I can find is the BCM, body control mudule. It located in the front consol which I could do myself but I don;t have a heated garage to work in and I would hate to do all that work and have it be a signal reciever or other part. The GM dealers in my area all have terrible reviews so I guess I will talk to other mechanics and see if they can fix it. I know I can buy it for $1-300 but the shops usually bump the price 50-100% profit and get you for couple hundreds per hr mechanic time and last thing I want to do is get stuck with a $1-2 thousand cost. They wanted $260 to replace my fan belt tensioner and I did it myself for $40. Great vehicle, 2nd owner had 124,000 8yrs ago when bought and now only 144,000. only other repair was fuel pump in gas tank and tires.
