Does the k&n filter increase noise?

I know it wont add any benefit besides the ability to clean and reuse. I am wondering if it increases turbo noise at all? I've been using these filters on maf cars and have never had a problem so that is not a concern. On my last car a 2010 Saab 9-3 aero with the 2.0 turbo it increased the turbo noise quite a bit. You could even hear the recirculating valve on occasion as well.

Probably not as there is a big old silencer in the intake tube. Me all I hear is rumble of my Magna flow exhaust.

You can increase the turbo suction noise by cutting a hole in the lower air box like the V-Sport boxes, I have done it.

Not much if any noise increase from a K&N alone.
