Im thinking about getting my coolant changed, but I heard you need some kind of pellets or else the engine will damage. Is this true? I was going to have a local mechanic do it to save $$, so can I get these things and let him do it, or will he screw something up?

You can get the GM pellets, and have to grind them up, or you can go to Wal-Mart and get a tube of Bars Leaks powder. It comes in a little tube. It is the same exact stuff, but crushed up and ready to use. Place the powder in the lower rad. hose before you reconnect it and fill the system.
