I just found out that my long term (15 years) parts guy at my dealership has retired and moved out of state. He always took care of me with advice and discounts when he could. As a DIY pretty much all my life, one thing I always did when moving to a new place was establish a relationship with a parts guy.:crybaby:

that... and a good bartender :)

Good luck finding a new guy, or maybe he can continue to help remotely with good shipping costs...

I don't have the problem. There is no Cadillac dealer at all within 360 miles. It's mail order or nothing. There is a Chevy dealer that can sometimes be coaxed into ordering Cadillac parts for me.

Bring them donuts....

We LOVE donuts...
And Pizza, you want to get on a shop guy(s) good side, bring in pizza or donuts or depending on the shop beer...

Works wonders around the shop I work in (not automotive)

It always pays to be on good terms with people and doesn't always take treats. But they do help!
