Disappointing First Visit Back to Dealer for Maintenance

Brought my 2014 back to selling dealer for first maintenance/service. Want to say up fron SRX is a Driveway Queen (only comes out weekends--have a company car for weekdays) and after 12 months of on the road had accumulated 3145 miles. Oil change, check, state inspection, check, rotate tires, "...cannot goverened by mileage", Change wiper blades,"... cannot goverened by mileage". So my Premium Maintenance Plan covered an oil change.

I half agree with tires, although certainly this car (leased) will be going back after 39 months with about 15,000 miles. Wiper blades are in the element and subjected to the harsh winter we had here in the northeast BUT "...because they are not streaking...cannot change." I know this is totally a minor almost non issue, certainly other people will say this is not a problem; but for a $50K vehicle with "Premium Maintenance" I would not expect to be nickeled and dimed by Caddilac. Disappointing:canttalk:

CADILLAC PREMIUM CARE MAINTENANCE COVERS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE SERVICES, (WHEN SCHEDULED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OWNER’S MANUAL), INCLUDING:
Oil Changes: Based on your Cadillac’s Oil Life Monitor system
Tire Rotation every 7,500 miles
Engine air cleaner filter replacement
Passenger compartment air filter replacement
Multi Point Vehicle Inspections (MPVI)

----------

They did exactly what they were supposed to do.

If they would have changed wiper blade, I'd really been surprised.
My wiper blade tore and I was responsible for the $69.00 cost under warranty. Wipers not covered.
GM free maintenance is a marketing ploy to get the customer to come back to the dealer where they can make upsells. Upsells are where the money is and Cadillac dealers will charge confiscatory prices for those extra services. They are also hoping that the 4 visits will start a 'habit' and you will spend more money on your vehicles as they recommend.
I brought my 2014 performance in for its first yearly service to Crest in Venice,Fl. They rotated the tires along with the oil change.
It only had 6,000 miles on it so I was wondering if they would do the tire rotation.

They'd do it. Just had mine rotated twice, each a bit over 6,000 miles. Oil can be changed at less than 20% or once a year minimum.

Also wipers are not included in the premium care package, neither are alignment and wheel balance. They wanted $130 for wheel balance and I passed on that. Wipers I got the Goodyear ones from Costco when they had a buy one get one free deal, $8 done for both sides instead of $70 ouch.
I haven't used wipers since 1999. I'm not sure what the cost of the RainX has been since then but I doubt it was $70.

RainX is $10-20 at WalMart each, dealers do $70 that's including labor and "warranty".
I was sitting at the dealer getting my front strut mounts replaced to solve the rubbing noise while turning with cold outside temps. I read this thread and realized that my right wiper had been doing a poor job for some time. I thought "hey, I'll tell them to change my wipers while I'm here". I've previously leased BMW's and the included maintenance covered wipers and brakes too. I was informed that wipers were considered a "wear item". I already knew that Cadillac didn't cover brakes. I was offered regular or deluxe wipers, not sure of the exact type but there were standard or upgrade type. I opted for the more expensive wipers and the cost was about $52 with tax. What a difference as I drove home in the rain. We're still getting some snow here as well, so I'm glad that I finally changed the wipers. After 2 years and 8 months I've had to spend just this on my SRX. That's really not so bad. I probably could have tried to clean them, and/or sneak by with RainX, but what's the point? There are some areas where you can save a few bucks and some where you bite the bullet, a small bite at that.

If the OP had read the terms of the contract beforehand, they would have known exactly what Cadillac will and will not replace "free" of charge. Do you not want to know exactly what you are buying before you buy it?

There is no such thing as free service. It means that its price is included in the vehicle price. Especially if it is about the things that are needed for sure - like oil, filters, wiper blades...Since GM wants to
make money on everything (and why not?) and they only offer "brand" parts I am sure that the real "cost" of wiper blade replacement factored into the "service price" would be significant. I have bought
a pair of Trico NeoForm blades for the winter season to replace my almost-brand-new wipers and I can tell you - they did excellent job this winter and are still good. They were about $15 each. Nothing
that GM can offer at this price. I will continue buying them and will keep the original wipers - to put them on sometime before returning the leased car.
