There. I've said it. I've held my tongue for a while now, but I have to say the ATS' styling just doesn't send chills up and down my leg. In my world, then, this would mean the ATS-V has a tough starting point and needs to have treatments done sufficient to continue the tradition that all the other V series models have managed to do, namely, look classy but you know this isn't a regular XXX (<-- fill in the blank CTS, XLR, STS).

Am I the only one? Anybody else feel this way?

No, you are not alone - I am also not blown away by the ATS exterior design. It is distinctive and the headlights are a nice touch - but the front end proportions are not quite right. The front grille is too large making the hood line too high and there is no factory option for blacking out the chrome trim. Hope one does not have to buy an ATS-V to get more attractive front end styling.

If you look back on the '03 CTS, it was a really bold statement in styling ... something which the V augmented into a very pleasing design. I just don't see this with the ATS.

Surprise me, GM.

Was looking for a blacked out aftermarket grill for my ATS I get tomorrow at E&G and saw at the bottom of two models "does not fit the 2014 ATS-V". Seems someone knows when the "V" is arriving.

ATS seems like a good car to Modify. Just like the 3series owners do.

An modded correctly ATS should turn heads easily

I used vinyl on grill. I have not had chance to do bottoms of grill yet. It's cheap non permanent option.
You mean vinyl wrap? Looks good, how long will it last?

Yes vinyl wrap my tinter did window trim and grill. He said if hand washed should last my 3 year lease no problem. Not expensive to do so if I had to replace not a problem

My friend has had for years on his car and still looks great. Another option is plasti dip. I used plasti dip on my cts coupe made huge difference. Pm for pics of coupe. I did all chrome trim and wheels in a few hours.

Thx for the info, good to know some options out there.

I still hope GM offers a black-out trim with lowered suspension in the near future.

They must have a number of internally proposed renditions some with black-out trim, etc. I'm hoping they give us something a bit on the aggressive side and not too bland.

I think cadillac still thinks chrome is good. While most sport models offer black trim(like bmw) In Cadillacs case the chrome is considered an upgrade. On a sporty model I think most buyers would prefer the black trim over chrome. At least I did.

After I blacked out trim the difference was night and day. In my opinion it looks so much better

Black-out is bland and overdone. Tasteful chrome or polished aluminum is much more aggressive and beautiful. Black wheels look brown when they are dirty. Thankfully, we have a choice.
