I have just under 100k on my '04. I went ahead and swapped out the diff fluid (I need to do the vent TSB as well) and I found this on the drain magnet. I assume it's part of the limited slip clutch pack, but I am not sure. Aside from that the only thing it looks like it could be to me is a bearing spacer, and that seems less likely to be (but possible). No other noise or any indication of problems as of this posting.

Has anyone ever seen something similar? I've been fairly gentle with launches on mine as I know these things don't take well to burnouts.

Yeah can't think of much else it could be.

I did the diff TSB a couple of months ago when I first got my V.

I cleaned the heck out of the diff in and out.

Nothing but dirty slimy fluid came out and my 3rd gen V1 diff has a 100K miles too.

I would say either rebuild it while it's out, or it's good opportunity to try and get a 3rd or 4th gen diff in it's place.
