STS (300HP/3.71 final drive) production ceased in about June of 03. The SLS (275hp/3.11 final drive) continued until Dec. of '03, so the end-of-run SLS is titled as an 04. There were essentially no changes to the K-car line from mid '02, the beginning of the "'03" production run. (Anything built from August 2003 on was designated an '04).
The normal STS/SLS trim/drivetrain differences carried over.
in 04 you COULD get an STS from Canada with export cluster but there is no domestic STS in 2004 to provide a break in the model design name so there would be no confusion between the Seville STS and the 05 RWD STS
Which begs the question: What is the build date of an exported Seville TS which is titled as a "2004". The door sticker will tell all. Any Canadians with a "2004" Seville Touring Sedan (STS) willing to chime in ??? .........and what would be the procedure to import a Canadian "STS" and have it pass 50 State emissions requirements ?
There is not really any major hoops necessary to purchase a CAD vehicle and bring it here. The salesman at a Lexus dealer I called several months ago in Canada explained that he sells cars to U.S. customers all the time without any hassles.
