I took my 00 deville to the dealership to have my theft deterrent module replaced, once I received my car back the air bag light came on and I received a message saying service air bag. Two questions, where is the theft control module located on the 00 base deville. Second is it possible the dealership caused the air bag discrepancy while replacing the module? Please help.

Not sure where the module is in your car.

2 options:

Pull your codes and see what's triggering the light and message.

Take the car back to the dealer.

I am a firm believer in coincidences, however, I doubt this actually is one. Like MoistCabbage said, pull the codes before you blame the dealer for it, but be prepared to face a very likely visit back the dealership.

It wouldn't surprize me if a tech moving a seat triggered a side airbag/pretentioner code.

or they just forgot to plug the airbag electrical connector back together [depending on where they were working, it may have been advisable to disconnect it].
