DFW guys --> Sewell in Grapevine great work!!

Thought I would let my fellow North Texans know of my good experience, once again, with Sewell in Grapevine. I took the car in for the Stabilitrack errors and they knew it was the SPS right off the bat. All of my warranty work has been done through them and I've had nothing but excellent experiences there.

I know some of you guys had issues with other service departments. Give them a shot if you can afford the drive.

:)

Great to hear. havent had to take mine in yet but I've heard nothing but great things about Sewell.
Maybe next time you can join the DFW V's for a meet. We had 12 last time with 2 no shows...we have the potential of getting 15+ together.
Again, glad to hear they took great care of your V.
Eh, I've had best results with Massey Cadillac in Garland. I'm now on a first-name-basis relationship with the service manager over at Sewell Grapevine for a couple service items they couldn't get right the first time, and they're not so mod-friendly. I've never had a problem with Massey!
Ask for Cody Young (Service Manager) when going to Sewell Grapevine. He knows all about the V and has provided me with great service. I don't currently have mods but he is encouraging me to add some!

How do you like your new STS-V?

I have mixed feelings about it now. I've got to let my CTS-V go tomorrow and its really starting to make me feel sad. :crybaby: The STS-V arrived on Monday in poor shape--apparently the previous owner wasn't too honest about the condition of the car, and has a different view on auto care. It's less than a year old, doesn't even have 8000 miles on it yet, and it's already got scuffed up rocker moldings (curbs? improper jacking?), a nice, long scratch down the side of the rear bumper cover, an impact mark in the center of the rear bumper, a front wheel with a lot of curb rash, scratches in the leather center console and cover and overall just heavily soiled.

I just got back from Massey to get a body shop estimate on the damage: $1363.27  I've already found inexpensive replacement interior pieces and a reconditioned wheel. It's going in tomorrow to have the carpets and leather steamed out and then I'm doing a full detail with clay, then wetsand the scratches, run a wheel to clean things up and slob some good wax on it this weekend. This thing needs some TLC.

The car is really nice, but it sure does feel a whole lot bigger than the CTS-V, and a bit more lazy at that. I sure won't be hammering corners at 35 MPH while wagging the tail out anymore. :( However, the stereo system rocks and it's got a bunch of cool toys I could have really used on the CTS-V. With the 6-speed auto and a cooler attitude, I should be able to pull down similar gas mileage numbers (15-16 MPG). I know I'm going to miss the nimble, athletic feel from the CTS-V though.

BINGO! I just took the STS-V into Sewell (Grapevine) this afternoon to address a couple mild TSBs and met Cody. Turns out we knew each other from back in the LS1.com days (when I had my TransAm Firehawk). Cody definitely knows his stuff and strives to make sure you're happy.

If you're thinking about taking your car in for service, definitely give him a call first.
I'm getting a weird humming noise when I turn the wheel to the right...I guess I'll take it by Sewell and ask for Cody...
STAY AWAY from Sewell Dallas on Lemon Ave. Worst experience ever almost made me sell the V. I had a good experience with James Woods, but only minor work done not sure how mod friendly they are.

I havent had a service issue with this dealer but the parts dept leaves much to be desired. Everytime i've been in there it's taken at least 15-20 minutes. Their heads spun over an exhaust hanger and i had to laugh when they handed me the ashtray for a regular CTS. I've got a noise i plan on taping and posting on here. I think it's 1 of 2 things. Either the clutch or the rear. Not sure what would be better, i suppose the rear might be covered by my extended warranty..... But if it's just the clutch it gives me an excuse to get that UUC flywheel..... I'll give Sewell Grapevine a shot
