Has anyone tried Dexron 6 in place of Dexron 3 in their Seville?
I was going to change the fluid in my transmission and was wondering
if going to Dexron 6 was a good idea.

Dexron VI is superior to, and completely backwards compatible with Dexron III.

I used it in my trans when I did a drain and refill 2 years ago. Not even sure you can find Dexron III anymore. There is no noticeable difference other than price.

DEXRON-VI superseded the obsolete -III and has been standard fill since mid-2006 and is used in all GM dealer maintenance. If you didn't know it was in there there is nothing, seat-of-the-pants performance-wise, that would let you know it was in there.

My 2002 has had it since 11/07.

Did any of you see a rise in fuel economy? I was reading about the differences between Dexron 6 and Dexron 3 on
Wikipedia and they mentioned a possible slight rise in fuel economy. The price difference does not seem to be that
bad so I think I will change it over to Dexron 6. -Thanks

No. See post #3.

As I recall it was almost twice as expensive (about $6/qt). Best price I found was under Walmarts SuperTech label (about $4/qt).
