I Recently drove my 91 Deville 4.9 from Chattanooga to Atlanta and back (about 120 mile trip each way) and found my highway mileage to be most excelent. i got between 29-30 MPG. But in town, and in traffic, i got about 15 MPG. I wasnt happy. If only i could switch between my Nissan and my Caddy, id have the perfect setup for mpg and comfort.

I get between 19-22 CITY and 24-27 HWY...but on long road trips I get over 29 MPG and have gotten over 32 MPG on occasion. Seems the harder I drive it the better the gas mileage. I've also found that accelerating at wide open throttle about 2-3 times per month helps...it blows out the junk and also eliminates the carbon knocking when the engine is cold, and improves gas mileage.

My 98 Deville with 113K miles gets better gas mileage than my 04 PT Cruiser with 13K miles.

I average 24.5 generally with a nice combination of city/highway. On one occasion, taking a trip through several small towns, I drove like a lil old lady just to see what kinda mileage I could get, and I wound up averaging 29.6 for the whole trip!
