Last night I went at it from the light with a new Quad Cab short bed Titan.
That truck had a nice loud exhaust, sounded like a 72 Chevy Stepside with a 350 and headers.
I couldnt even hear my car due to his truck making all the noise.
Anyway I pulled 1/2 a car length on him to the next light.

You're kidding us, right? You beat it with your 4.9L?

The Nissan Titan is supposed to do 0-60 in 7.0 sec. 1992 ETC 4.9L is 8.2 sec

I wonder why the Titan didn't leave you in the dust. Maybe the mods he had dropped its HP? Crappy driver?

I'm glad someone else said it. But I don't think the Titan knew he was in a race. A stock Titan would beat up on any Caddy with a 4.9 in stock trim let alone a modded Titan

I wouldn't say that....I've seen articles where they tested the '92 DeVille Touring Sedan...0-60 in 7.4 and the 1/4 mile in 16.0. That's about the same weight as the ETC, but it's got a 2.93:1 FDR versus the ETC's 3.33:1 FDR. Which means the ETC should come out of the hole even quicker. Stock 4.9L Cadillacs were usually good for a 0-60 time inbetween 7.8-8.3 seconds. Heck, they tested a base '91 Sedan deVille at 8.5 seconds and a 16.4 1/4 mile, but there are users on here who have run their stock 4.9L deVilles at tracks and have seen anywhere from 15.9-16.4 so there's a big variation. He said that the Titan he raced was the Quad Cab, which means it's the heaviest one available, so it's possible that with the deeper final drive ratio of the ETC along with the heavier weight of the Titan that it could have been a very close race.

I dunno why everyone makes the Titan out to be some super fast truck that beats everything else on the road....

I can see the 4.9 Eldo being a quick car... my DeVille was quite fast for what it was... the Eldo would just be quicker.

No 4.9 anything from Caddy will be faster then a Titan. The Titan is no Lightning or SRT-10 Ram but for what it is it is quite fast. They do 7 second flat 0-60 mph runs and some guys have gotten into the 6.9 0-60 times bone stock and they run 15 second 1/4's and a few have broken into the high 14's bone stock. I'm sorry but no 4.9 powered Caddy is going to come anywhere near those kinda times especially when in this case the Titan also had a exhaust done to it. The 4.9 has great down low torque but thats about all it has going for it. It gets out of the hole great but once it starts going it's nothing special. Hell back when I had my 1990 Sedan Deville I got smoked from a roll by my parents Lincoln Aviator

I know the guy was racing because I had my pedal to the floor and he was still keeping up pretty good.
No one takes off that fast or makes that much noise if they're not racing.
Im not saying my car is super fast by any means, I was just surprised a 15 year old vehicle with such high mileage even pulled a win against a newer more powerful truck with steeper gears.
Maybe if the truck was a few hundred pounds lighter or not a quad cab he would have inched away but this was basically a race to about 50 so I would say a battle of the 1st gears. From a roll, definately a different outcome, but from the dig I had the win.
Now an srt-10 or lightening would have chewed my ass up, those are trucks I wouldnt even try against, hell there's some wicked diesels running around here to!
Happy racing!
