That does not sound like a fuel filter problem at all. Not sure what a "default key" is. Have you tried using a spare key? Have you pulled the codes?

hey all,
having a problem with my `93 broham. after i park it the engine turns over but then dies
if i let it sit for an hour or so it will start right up no problem. was told that it was my fuel filter, so i had it replaced,it was riding just fine,but the guy that fixedit told me that the problem was the default key, i must have drove it for about two days before the default light started coming on.
now it will start,but dies down,sorta like an auto thef or something like that i was told? oh and it has a half tank of gas.
any and all help would be appreciated. trying to sell my truck, but can`t until i fix this problem.

yea, i have tried using my spare key and i get the same result?
I was going to say the same thing as Ranger, have you tried your spare key? I'm thinking that maybe your key is pretty well worn, and it is changing the percieved (by the car) value of the resistor in the key by no longer making good contact in the ignition.
Well, that answers that question...I've never heard of the default key light..
Without having a mental picture of your dash I am not sure what is above your Check Engine light.the default key light comes on right above the check engine light.

Not sure if the brougham is different than the Deville or not, but if it isn't, simultaneously press and hold the OFF & WARMER buttons.
