Tuesday I dropped off my '16 CTS for service on Wednesday. There were two open recalls and many gremlins. Memory seat does not return to correct position since spring 2018 when I unlocked the car with the second key. Frequently I've returned to the car to find the rear doors unlocked. Driver door was locked. I didn't check the right front door. Those types of issues. One issue as was not on the repair order so it didn't get to the tech.

Wednesday the SA phoned to tell me the car was ready. He went on with a fictional account of the remedies that were applied to the gremlins. I arrived to return the loaner and pickup my car. SA made a weird comment to me to come that when I have problems with tech stop in and he will explain. Said there is a lot of tech. I had no response, just looked at him. I don't have problems with tech. Cadillac does. Poor quality tech will not function reliably.

Last evening I reviewed the repair order to learn that only the recalls were done. The other items were GM Cadillac SOS--no codes, cannot duplicate, functioned as designed, customer drooling into a cup, etc.

My car is in the taillight warranty through June 2020. I doubt I'll take it to the dealer except for recalls. It a time consuming fool's errand. I have an honest mechanic close to home that does not make an opera of an oil change.

A key tag was removed from one of the keys. I retuned to retrieve it. Another staffer phoned the SA on speaker so I could ask for the key tag. He tried to persuade me that the Faraday pouch used to take the second key was the same thing as a key tag.

I emailed the service manager with my concerns. I doubt it will do any good. May help someone else/jk

The one upside is that I leaned from that rattle trap loaner that Cadillac is worse now than MY 2016.

PJL, thank you for your response. The car is buggy and has been since delivery. I bought it from a different dealer. I was treated badly there. I did contact GM/Cadillac cs at that time. They are a bad joke. I still have saved VM's from them in case I would ever weaken and consider another Cadillac.

This service department helped with a few issues. I have heat on the driver side now. The first two winters there was no heat. The SA on this visit is sort of goofy. His comments about tech were very strange.

I'll wait for the service manager to have time to look into the issue. Hopefully there will be some resolution.

My car runs and drives. I'll try to suffer it as long as it does. Maybe something else will catch my eye. I will definitely involve my mechanic in any future buying decision. He cautioned me twice against another Cadillac. Wish I took the time to pursue that with him. At that time anything other than Cadillac was out of my frame of reference. Now I will avoid GM products.

RedCadi, sorry you're experiencing these issue. My 2008 CTS (prior vehicle) and my current 2018 CTS are nearly flawless. The only maintenance on the 2008 was replacing a DLR (for which the labor cost way more than the part) but otherwise I've had now issues, consistent with my experience with GM vehicles in the past 20 years. Maybe I'm just lucky.
