Decided to take a road trip with my mom and daughter to Orlando and within an hour of arriving on Sunday evening my IPC died. I turned off the car, got out got back in restarted....etc. nothing. Finally gave up, drove to dinner with no instruments or info... Then car sat for 1.5 hours. Got in and IPC worked.

Car is 2013 ATS 2.0T with 34,800 miles... And I'm 1000 miles from home plus any driving we do here in Orlando. Husband says take straight to dealer in AM to check to see if computer logged anything. Worried it will roll out of warranty and voila! I need a new computer.

Anyone else had this issue recently!? Was it intermittent like mine!? Praying the dealership here has good customer service....

Hi,

The problem I had with my instruments last summer was different than yours.

My tachometer started showing a negative value at idle, yet on the highway doing legal speeds, it would indicate so high off the meter I was getting concerned.

When I took it to my dealership in Scottsdale, they decided to replace the whole instrument cluster and some controllers. Cadillac covered it and they gave me a longer car till the parts came in.

Hehehe, the loaner they gave me was an XTS...that model is most certainly grandpa's car compared to the ATS! One of which I'd never buy, I hate the design and handling of that model...sorry Cadillac ;-)

In any event, I'm impressed in that anything that has gone wrong with my car, Cadillac and Earnhardt Cadillac in Scottsdale has stepped up and made it right!

I can't imagine Cadillac and your dealership not making it right with you.

If you're in Orlando, call Massey Cadillac on North John Young Parkway (don't go to the south dealer), they will have someone bring you a loaner and take your car if you want or you can drop it off and get one.

As for the IPC, that happened to my 2013 2.5L at ~3k miles, 10k miles later and it never happened again, but I also traded it in.

Craigd13, I completely forgot about the longer warranty period LOL! Feel like it's Christmas! I'm headed to Massey on John Young Parkway, so they can look at it. It seems to be working fine this morning. Very frustrating though...hope they determine it is ^one of those things^ lol!
