Dash Coming Loose & Remote Start

1) The dash is starting to come up where it enters the defroster opening. Will 3M double sided tape fix it. If not, does anyone know how?

I think someone once said Gorilla glue will do the job.

On my 1997, the most noticable area was where the defroster grill sat. After removing the dash, there were other areas as well. I used Gorilla glue, several wood clamps and a metal bar. It was a several day process, but it was worth it. A word of caution. Be sure to allow time to check and re check for expendanding glue. It needs to be wiped frequently so it won't get on the dash material.

mine is coming up also here in this area....whole dash actually needs work in that way....just havent gotten around to it yet

Professional alarm/remote starter installer here.

I'm pretty sure there was no factory remote start until the current-style (2005-up?) STS came out.

Your remote starter must be an aftermarket one......but then again, you mentioned a message in the car's factory Driver Information Center?

1. What is this service switch you mentioned, where is it, and what does it look like?

2. Does the remote control have a brand name, or telephone number, or anything like that?

3. Exactly what words are displayed there in the DIC?

The switch is the red service on/off switch under the driver's side dash. The DIC says "remote starter disabled.
