Car is a 2005 cts-v with longtube headers and cat delete. looking for a good cam selection and possibly a set of heads or ported stock ones. this car is a daily driver and i do not want a radical cam. i will be doing valve springs and all that jazz. just wondering what a good solid combo would be. i do not want all my power above 6000rpm thanks.

Talk to some reputable shops that specialize in the LS engines and offer there own camshafts. Such as Geoff of EPS(http://www.engpwrsys.com/) He's one that's been in this business for a long time designing cams and offering complete tuneing for the LS engine family. They will ask you some necessary information that will help them choose the best cam for you. Another critical item necessary is computer tuning. The computer needs to be tuned specifically for the camshaft. Best option is bringing car to a reputable tuner so they have it there first hand. You can opt for a mail order from the above shop as well. Good luck! Sorry admins if I stepped over a rule for recommending a reputable shop.

I had a set of 243 heads ported by Total Engine Airflow, and had Geoff @ EPS do a custom cam for me. The car shares daily driver duties, and I use it for a few track events each year, so I wanted a good, broad power band and didn't want to have to rev the piss out of it. I've been very happy with it.

Sounds like a strong setup!
