Cylinder order

I have a misfire in Cylinder 2... I know the cylinders run 2,4,6 on one side, and 1,3,5 on the other. Which side are odd numbers and which side is even? Does the lowest number start by the front bumper, or the firewall? Please use driver and passenger side when explaining (not left and right) to avoid confusion. Thanks guys
