just installed mine last night. notchy as hell, but a big improvement over oem. and ill be sending out my oem shifter to you soon. thanks brian!
That's how it should feel. You should be able to feel the gates and the stops in the sister mechanism/transmission. The stock business/stock shifter felt like moving a spoon in a bowl of jello.

Not complaining at all, just giving my review/opinion on it compared to stock. I am happy with it that's for sure!

Alright, just making sure. The last car I had with a short throw, made everything so much better. And when I got in the V for the first time, shift felt like I was trying to shoot a target at 1000yards while drunk on absinthe. I was hunting around for gears like a blind squirrel for a nut.

Lol, that's a good way to describe the oem shifter! Every car I owned in the past I have always installed a short throw shifter. I feel that's one thing that can always be improved on.

3,442 posts made by brian, who knows how many members that he has helped, hooked up, or provided key knowledge or ideas to.. You're gonna ban a guy like that? I think if you reach a certain post number or something you should be unbannable. Let him fuzzy logic, darkman and all the people that are all over these forums daily say whatever the hell they want they have EARNED it and deserve the respect. I've gotten so much help from these "well experienced" guys. if pssnuoff only made 1 post per day, he would have been on this forum for longer or roughly the same amount of time as when my 2005 cts-v came out.... 1 post per day would put him at almost a 9.5 year member. I know he don't just post once per day, but he's been a reliable member on this forum... Vent over for now

He has my information and I have his number. i'm not sweating it by anymeans, I know one of these days soon I will be receiving a box :) I even sent a new v owner his way yesterday for the shifter. No point in bugging him for any updates especially since I feel he is going above and beyond by providing me with a piece that I need due to the fact that I'm coming from the B&M shifter. I wanna get "FREE PISSNUOFF" shirts with Bring Brian Back on the back of them lol.. Any takers lol (disclaimer: I'm not a vendor and my advertising here is strictly sarcasm and humor, no offense intended, PLEASE DON'T BAN ME TOOO!)

Just installed my Hurst shifter today. It replaced a B&M shifter. I wasn't expecting much of a difference but it was just like coming from the stocker all over again. The throws of this shifter are nice and short. No slop whatsoever. Unfortunately I haven't been able to drive with it yet due to other mods in progress, but from the way it feels while just sitting in the driver's seat, I'm looking forward to that first drive.

This is a joke right? Pissnuoff being banned makes about as much sense as deleting a sticky thread....he was the single most helpful resources during my short tenure on this site. If a guy like this gets banned off the 04-07 forum then I guess there isn't much hope to find new and viable posts about our aging cars.

Seriously, bring this guy back the forum is loosing an extremely valuable resource that will most likely never be replaced with an equal.

Alright, been searching for this Hurst shifter..I'm assuming the GTO shifter is workin in our cars? Not one place I looked has an option for our's...
People are using the Camaro one, P/N 3916030. It needs to be modified to work though, I bought mine pre-modified from Brian. I'm not sure how extensive the modifications were, perhaps you could do it yourself if you were so inclined and have the ability. I was very happy with what Brian provided though, he went above and beyond especially considering I was coming from a B&M and couldn't reuse the factory hold down.

Ok so I got my shifter put in and my Alcantra boot installed today finally. I can say that I didn't fully appreciate how crappy my stock shifter was until I got the Hurst installed. Damn this thing drives better now, I took it out and ran it hard without the bezel or foam right after I got her buttoned up and I was amazed with the difference. I'll shoot a picture of what it all looks like now that it is installed tomorrow and post it up.

One thing I did realize is that I desperately need new motor mounts and trans mounts now. I am still having a difficult time getting her into 1st and reverse....but boy does she shift better through the other gears.

Thanks again Brian!
