Hey 04 check out *************** cts v. If you don't know what I'm talking about pm me and I'll send it to you. Brian has moved to over there for the shifters my friend.

For what it's worth. Hurst hands down over the original modified stock shifter. I have had both variations and love the hurst the best.

Becker, I am currently trying to decide between the modified stock or the hurst shifter. From what PISNUOFF said, the difference in feel is only marginally better for the Hurst setup and he actually recomended that I just go with the modified stock setup if it is just for daily driving and I am not planning on using the chrome stalk. Do you have a different opinion? I would be fine with spending the extra $90 if the difference is really worth it. I just want the best possible setup since the interface between the driver and transmission is such an important part of the overall driving experience, and the feel of the stock shifter definately leaves a lot to be desired. But I do plan on still using my V2 knob I purchased from Luke @ Lindsay, so I would have to send Brian my stock unit after I do the install so he can modify it while I use the Hurst stalk for a while, and then swap them when he sends it back. So what do you think, is it a no brainer? Is the Hurst that much better that I shouldnt even consider the modified stock? Looking for opinions from anyone and everyone. Thanks.

If you have crappy tools and aren't a very confident mechanic, you may see a need remove all that stuff but I, as well as many others, have done it without removing anything from underneath the car. There have been some who have done it without even removing the console but if you're shifter has never been replaced and is still riveted into the car (from the factory), you will need the extra room so get it out of the way.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. I had a shop tell me they needed to remove the transmission!
I can do this myself, just haven't found any good write-ups, except one which involved removing half the under carriage.

Cost me $125 to have it installed by the local Corvette shop.

Good gracious guys I'm sure there are a few of us that could help explain the process...it is really easy and no need to take it to anyone to have parts removed. I have the stock exhaust and resonator in place and am able to get my arms past it to get to the shifter base. Let me know what questions you have and I will see what I can do to walk you through the process. It takes me roughly 15 minutes now to pull my shifter out and put it back in once the car is up on ramps or jack stands in the front.

You cannot imagine the huge difference in this shifter..at least 50percent shorter throw.and to top it off its solid as a rock in feel.no more fighting reverse ingagement. Zero slop just all around new car feeling.agin mind blown how this kit worked out.
